BMY and Lucky Number Slevin

BMY closed for BE last night.  I missed on RIG as I was busy watching Lucky Number Slevin. Some of this might be a spoiler if you haven’t seen it before so…

The movie didn’t start very promising, just a bunch of people getting wasted in various ways by people who didn’t seem to have anything in common. But then that’s the whole point of the movie, to get you thinking what the hell is going on and the pull a “Kansas City Shuffle” which means making you look right when you should be looking left. The movie then picks up pace and becomes more interesting as Josh Hartnett takes the lead role. The movie is trying hard to look cool, funny, action packed and build up towards a climax where all the dots get connected nicely. I think it manages to well mostly the last part of joining the dots in a relatively plausible way. The coolness of the actors just barely keeps it above acceptable level, the jokes aren’t that funny and the action is OKish. I did find quite amuzing though the whole Rabbi thing but that’s partly laughing with the movie and partly at it. So in summary I did enjoy the movie but probably not as much as I hoped I would, so a rating of 7 (out of 10).
