End of 2007 - mini summary

I am done trading for this year. From what I’ve seen so far, like last year, the low market volume and choppiness doesn’t offer too many good reward to risk opportunities. So I’m better off just doing other things. People have asked me what I’m doing these days, well I never have shortage of things to do. I’m spending my time mostly reading, watching movies, traveling, working on some new trading ideas, going to the gym and generally just relaxing.
2007 has been a year of a lot change, on many levels. Switching from the dreaded day job to trading full time, starting a new relationship and finally relocating from Singapore to Thailand. I’m happy to say it’s been all good so far. Trading worked well, I’ve tripled my account size, including after starting to withdraw living expenses from it in September. It wasn’t a journey without hiccups though, as those who read the blog know I had a challenging transition from Singapore to Bangkok and still have issues with the internet connection here that is crippling me.
On the relationship side, things are going very well too and I’m also enjoying my life in Thailand immensely. Sometimes I walk around with the feeling that there must be some nasty surprise waiting for me somewhere at some point to offset this current situation. Maybe I’m just paranoid, or too influenced by Taleb’s Black Swan book :-) excellent read by the way.
I’ll be updating the blog infrequently for the next 3 weeks or so. I’m traveling to Vietnam tomorrow for about a week and then joining my gf’s company trip to Chiang Rai. Hope everyone have good holidays, happy Hannuka and Merry Christmas.

What can I say? Jealous …LOL..
Merry Christmas and Happy new year mate!
Eyal… you’re an inspiration to a lot of traders out there looking to make a living out of it. It’s great to follow the snipets of your life that you expose us to as it really does sound like you’ve achieved that perfect ‘work/life’ balance that we all look for. I think we will both fondly look back at 2007. I certainly look forward to 2008. Have a great holiday.
Way to go! you are truly an inspiration. all the best.
Hey Eyal, Congratulations and Happy Holidays.Looks like you are doing great not only in trading but also on the personal level.
I was often wondering why would people move to Thailand. My friend Syd moved there about 3 years ago. He had a pretty lucrative job with Warner cable, a pretty successful guy, even by American standards. Now he is a biology teacher in Chiang Mai surrounded by the Sutheb Mountains and he is happy as never before. You must have done something right.

Thanks everyone for all the nice words, not sure I deserve that :-) And also not forgetting a lot of credit goes to maoxian.com for his dummy lessons archive. Good luck to all of us in 2008.
