More of the same, mostly chop. Traded the 2 main candidates for today SBUX and GRMN. SBUX didn’t work and GRMN didn’t really go anywhere. So no mistakes, no missed trades, just a boring lackluster market.I ended the day with some lunch + beer money :-)

Way too much randomness today with the lack of volume. The solar stocks were moving though. I almost caught JASO but hesitated because of the chop.

Last few days have, and actually a lot of this month, have been quite choppy. Happens every now and then.

Not sure why I’m responding to this… Found you while doodling on the web. You said you didn’t make much money on GRMN, but it made a $4.00 move up, after the initial pullback, then you could have bought a PUT for the $7.00 drop to the 21st or 23rd , and if you had just waited for a few days, a $17 move up on the stock let alone the CALL. I’d take that $17.00 move anyday over a short term pop on news. It was too much a down week besides the 13th, but those were just the shorts getting out. The down wasn’t done. Once the overall market found support on the 26th, and 27th then was a great time to move in.
And I wouldn’t play SBUX. Too many stores.
I guess I just found an opportunity to analyze someones play…and you provided it. Hope you have a great day.

Simon - all fair comments, however I’m a day trader not a swing trader and I never use options, just the stock itself. I usually don’t even know what company it is I’m buying or shorting so whether it’s SBUX or XUBS or XYZ it’s just letters and a symbol to me. As the saying goes, there are many ways to skin a cat. Thanks for the feedback and hope you enjoy the blog.
