Friday trades

Another choppy day for me. Lost 2Rs on WFR, OCR and MSFT. I managed to wipe out all of this month’s gains and am in slight negative territory (a -1R or so). But! I think I know what happened. I was gazing in mid air, half blanking out from tiredness and half replaying various trades in my mind and thinking about the last couple of weeks. I was mainly going over this question in my mind: “have I been doing anything differently, how come all my trades are stopping out”. And then it hit me, I *was* doing something different. A contributing factor was looking at Dave’s trade from yesterday in TMO. Looking at it I was thinking, yep I know this sort of trade, have been doing these all over Feb. And then - err.. so why didn’t I see and trade this yesterday?! Along the way from Feb to through March to April something changed in the way I was trading, I lost something. And I think I know what it is.

Well at least I think that’s what happened, there’s no way to know for sure since I can’t go back and re-run my intraday scans, evaluate candidates, choose them, etc. etc. So this is sort of an educated guess rather than certainty. In any case, April is written off. At least not too much damage. I’ll be keeping a keen eye on this preceived variance in my trading starting next week.

Eyal, sorry to hear that bro. I lost money for the first time in months in March. Three things I did to change for the better. I didn’t chase markets, barely overtraded (still a bit of a problem), and looked at SPY/ QQQQ daily chart for my bias the following day. Hope it helps a bit ;)
