Get me some needles

A reminder we have a powerful that can do wonders with things like pain. almost on its own.

MH Today

It was a study of back pain and acupuncture. Sure enough, the little needles worked! Even better than conventional physical therapy and pills.

Problem is, even “fake” acupuncture worked. Some of the study subjects received sham acupuncture, where the needles were placed randomly and not deeply, and the patients reported, “Hey! I feel better!”

So what’s going on here? Obviously the placebo effect is strong—this shows up in virtually every study ever done on treatments of pain.

Yep, the mind has a lot to do with feeling pain. After all, you don’t feel much pain when you’re asleep do you?

i tried acupuncture for back pain, and didn’t get any relief..i went to a pain specialist, and they gave me shots which helped temporarily…the final step they recommended was surgery, and i went in a different direction which worked great…or then again, maybe the placebo effect of the chiropractor kicked in
