Holiday

It’s the holiday season. And I don’t really like it. It disrupts my routines and disturbs my schedules and plans. During holidays there’s no gym, diet goes out the window, there’s no trading, friends are not around, a few went back home for Xmas, others are spending time with their families/partners. On top of that, in Singapore, Hanukkah doesn’t exist, and people look at me weirdly that I don’t revel in Christmas celebrations. For most people here a white person = Christian and I even get “how come you don’t look like an Israelite?”.. So we’ve got one of these weekends starting today, and ANOTHER one next weekend. Marvelous.

Sorry to hear that. Maybe you can actually have Christmas eve dinner with one of your friends or just rent some good videos to see.

Was wondering if you can help on the below. One of my friend is thinking of daytrading in Singapore. However, he was thinking which internet provider to sign up with and which internet package to take to ensure no internet problems. Don’t want to be stuck in a position and the internet gets disruptive. Uggh! He sure will appreciate any help you can provide. Thanks.

    Thank, Caleb.
I’m using Starhub Cable 6.5MBps and have never had a single outage in 4 months. ISP’s here have improved a lot since I first traded here in 2004/05. Having said that it’s always good to have the option to at least close out trades on the phone in case of an emergency. The ISP is just one failure point, there’s electricity, the pc itself, data provider etc.

I don’t have experience with Singtel but there are other Sg traders in the blogsphere maybe they can shed light on this.

Thanks eyal. That was very helpful. If there are other traders, please let us know your view on which internet provider and subscription package to use in Singapore to daytrade the USA market. The more the merrier so that my friend can make the right chocie. TIA.

    Eyal,
Well, Christmas to me is kinda busy. Friends and relatives are coming to Singapore for holidays….

    Merry Christmas!

    Caleb,
I am with Eyal. I never had a single issue with my ISP for the past 4 years. I guess you may just drop by Starhub Shops or Singtel shops to check out the packages. I don’t see any problem with ISPs in Singapore. Spend your time choosing a right broker instead.

    Happy holiday.
