Movie night - National Treasure: Book of Secrets

I went to watch National Treasure: Book of Secrets last night. We got a couple of free tickets from my bank to a pre-release screening which was nice. At the entrance to the movie they collected everyone’s mobile phones so that people won’t be able to capture any part of the movie. Well everyone’s, except for yours truly, despite me holding my phone in my hand. I guess there are some advantages to language barriers sometimes :-)
The movie is well made and quite gripping, if “a bit” formulaic and cliche. Some parts of it were ridiculous though like the whole part with the President. I won’t tell too much so as not to spoil it for people, nor would I write a real full review - that would be far too much ‘work’. I also didn’t realize it’s based on a book and that there’s a sequel, so this may be the basis for the next National Treasure movie.
Some people go into a movie with great expectations. I try not to, for the US$3.60 a typical movie ticket sells for here in Bangkok, I’m just looking to be entertained for 90-120 minutes. If I get anything extra beyond that from the movie - great, if not well you get far less for buying a Starbucks coffee which for most people costs more (I only buy the cheapest smallest coffee I can get in Starbucks).
Right, enough rambling.. I got back home from the cinema too late to do any trading (which was expected) but a quick look at the screen showed DRI as interesting dummy play and the whole market just swinging around on average volume. I think most people are eagerly looking forward to just getting on with the holidays and starting the new year. I know I am.
