Relocation mayhem

I’m starting to feel my departure date getting really near, I’ve just canceled my cable TV this morning and internet connection (post-dated of course). I’ll  be paying ridiculously high fines to Starhub the media/connectivity stealer provider here for breaking my 2 years contracts. That’s how it is when you’re either the only provider (cable) or in a duopoly (internet). I’ve also got my last day at the office set to this Friday. 2 more days at this desk and I’m on my own.

Yeah, I know how much Starhub is going to charge you for breaking the contract. Oops, did I tell you I was working in Starhub for the past 5 years? :-)

I guess I know how do you feel right now. leaving old job, old place and looking forward to a brand new experience…uhm…

You mentioned a large telecom so out of alllll the different options I could probably guess ;-) but you never said anything about the arm and leg they were going to take for giving me a lousy hifi as a “gift” lol

Hope you stay on the right side of town.

BANGKOK (AFP) - Thai Prime Minister Surayud Chulanont said Wednesday that separatists fighting in Muslim-majority provinces have refused to take up his offer to launch peace talks.

“As of now, there has been no progress on starting negotiations, because that would require the agreement of both sides. So there are no talks for now,” he told reporters.

“My government is still adhering a policy of non-violence, but cooperation from the people is crucial,” he said.

Since Surayud took office following a military coup last year, he has made a series of peace gestures to the militants fighting along the southern border with Malaysia.

But the violence has only escalated since the coup, and the government has deployed thousands more troops and paramilitary forces to the region.

Thanks Yo. The “insurgency” activity is in the far south near the border with Malaysia, Yala province etc. where there are larger Muslim communities (Surprise surprise). Quite far from Bangkok, but thanks for the article.
