Thanks Mr. Straw

I’m sure Hamas leaders would be very pleased to hear that British Foreign Minister Mr. Straw softened his tone as he offered Hamas financial lifeline. This is to the same Hamas leadership who has publicly justified Monday’s bombing, which killed 9 Israeli civilians and publicly denounces the right of Israel to exist. So thanks Mr. Straw, your financial lifeline would be very helpful in terminating other life-lines.
Britain wants to have “normal relations” with Hamas and is seeking means of unfreezing millions of pounds worth of aid to Palestinians, Jack Straw said yesterday, in a striking softening of tone.
Two days after a Palestinian suicide bombing killed nine people in Tel Aviv, the Foreign Secretary appeared to be moving away from America’s policy of isolating the new Hamas-led Palestinian government and starving it of funds.
Hamas leaders have publicly justified Monday’s bombing, carried out by the Islamic Jihad group, as an act of “self-defence” against Israeli occupation.

There’s obviously some ulterior motive. Even the EU has been playing hardball with Hamas and, hence, the Palestinians. Now, *that’s* surprising.
Yes, that ulterior motive in this case is called cheap oil and petrodollar investments..
