The Weekly Poll August 27th

Thanks for everyone’s vote. Based on my readers here money management is the most important factor in trading followed shortly by psychology. It’s interesting to note that most of the readers didn’t see trading system as the most important factor and that leads me to think that either most of my readers are very experienced traders or, that the frequent mention of how important psychology and money management concepts are in the various books and articles, has made a real mark on people’s thinking.

A couple other observations, Capital only got one vote, by TaylorTree. Trading without adequate capital or scared money has significant impact on the other two factors - money management and psychology.

Patience, possibly is part of the psyhcology realm but to me this is a distinct aspect in trading both during sessions and in general. Apprently not many people thought it was that important :)

The other votes were for “other” -it would be interesting if the readers who voted for that can post a comment on what they think those other factors are..?

I voted for Money Management but it’s a chicken & egg thing with Capital. In fact, it’s almost a 3-way tie for me between MM, capital and psychology. I’d lump patience in with psychology, but I can see your point about it being distinct.

Yes Mike, you are probably right, those three are the “holy trinity” ;-)
