Thursday’s shift of focus

Tha daily update: two stock trades which didn’t work out: EXBD and PLCE. 3 ER2 trades which did work out. Nevertheless, my R size in futures is still relatively small so the gain in ER2 was less than the stocks loss.
Aside from that I’ve changed my routine significantly this morning for the first time. I was focusing on futures instead of stocks. My application layout, pre-market preparation and morning attention all shifted. I don’t think I will stop trading stocks (I’m still R&D’ing a few things for stocks) but I’m intending to continue this trend of shifting more attention to futures. My main problems with it at the moment are: 1. booking profits too early and 2. second guessing my signals. Unlike with stocks my futures trading strategy isn’t as firmed up and ingrained in my action. Once I gain more experience and confidence and trade size increases I suspect this will change. Overall though I’m quite pleased with the progress so far.
I’ve been pushing quite hard with all this work, I probably need to ease up a bit. I’m already starting to feel a few signs of fatigue and burnout induced stress. I might take a few days off from project work and posting updates and just let things consolidate and ferment in my head for a while.

I think we are in the same boat. I trade stocks and recently shifted focus on futures particularly ES because of the market downtrend and volatility. I wish you well trading futures.
Thanks Rene, same to you.
