In a strange move the French Assembly moved to legalize File Sharing.

The co-author of the amendments to the law which was passed in a nearly empty midnight session:

“It is wrong to describe the eight million French people who have downloaded music from the Internet as delinquents.”

I found that quite funny. Millions of French delinquents?? Incroyable!

I doubt this law will last very long and I can already hear industry executives scrambling in their corporate offices and corridors rushing between meeting rooms and phone calls to international law experts and political lobbyists. Maybe they’ll even come up with another new name for fries :)
