The market started strong but turned choppy. So more of the same in my trading today. None of the positions I had on worked, if there were any good candidates out there today then they weren’t on my scanners. I traded NTWK, FCX and CFC. Total of 1.4R lost. It’s starting to look like a bit of a slump or drawdown, I’m still up a decent amount for this month and my risk now is smaller but I’m hoping this is not going to last too long.
Other than that I still haven’t received my chair from Office Depot, they’ve been mucking around with sending me display units despite asking them not to when I bought it. The chair that arrived today looked the same but the delivery guy swears it is new. I might cancel the chair order and just keep the desk. Which means I need to go shopping again this weekend somewhere else.
I’m back to my swimming this week, finally managed to swim the whole length of the pool, don’t laugh, it’s a really long pool :-)

With your ‘decent’ profit in USD, and daily expenses in Thai baht. Sounds good and comfortable :-)
This month makes me glad I’m still paper trading. My win ratio is 25% and I’m down 5R this month. July and August were great compared to September. Some of that was my mistakes but a lot was the market. I keep waiting for the market to pick a direction. I noticed Japan and Europe received most of the benefit of the latest interest rate cut (in the short term). It seems likely that the rest of the month will be down from here.
Gav - yeah it’s not really an issue in that sense. I don’t have to churn out profit every single month either. It’s more of a psychological thing on weathering the slower times.
Rick - that’s quite possible, I don’t normally use macro analysis, surely not for trading. Sounds like a good idea to continue papertrading if you’re on a losing streak. I would recommend moving to trading real money, risking very very small amounts, once you turn the corner.
