West meets East and Belgian Monks

Like many other people who’ve spent a prolonged period of time away from their home country, I adjusted my living in many areas. This adjustment works in a 2 way fashion, when it comes to enjoying little things in life you’re never satisfied anymore with just one style anymore. When I’m in Asia I seek out western stuff and when I was in New Zealand, I looked for Asian things. One of the things I end up looking for when I’m in different Asian countries is good beer. Fortunately, there’s a good supermarket here called Villa Market which carries Western food and has one of the best selections of Belgian and German beers that I’ve seen, anywhere. I usually pick up a new bottle each time I visit there, from things I know well like Duvel and Hoegaarden to new discoveries, like this excellent Trappistes Rochefort - number 6. A rich dark ale with a wonderful taste.
